He was predeceased by: his parents, Nova Atkins Simpson and Bertha Pope Simpson; his wife Mary Elizabeth Schanding Simpson; his siblings, Myrtie Cassity, Nina Marshall, Virginia Leach, Marjorie Wright, Leonard Simpson, Roy Simpson and Robert "Bobby" Simpson; and his son-in-law Rick Kidwell.
He is survived by: his children, Alicia Bolling (Tom) of Lexington, Suzanne Kidwell of Lexington and Stephen Simpson (Gently Ang) of Pasadena, California.; his grandchildren, Emilie Van Haecke (Thomas) of Littleton, Hayley, Ella, Emma and Jordan Simpson of North Hollywood, California.; and his great grandchildren, Nova and Samuel Van Haecke. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Lexington Humane Society.
