He was predeceased by: his parents, Jefferson Zabodyn and Margaret McGinn Zabodyn; his siblings, Michael Zabodyn, James "Jimmy" Zabodyn and Marian Seiber; and his brother-in-law James Lawrence.

He is survived by: his wife Laura Zabodyn (Emigh); his daughter Jessica Pettigrew (Katannyi); his grandson Kaleb Pettigrew; his sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Leichty (Richard), Patricia "Pat" Carlstrom (Vic) and Nancy Lawrence; and his sister-in-law Judy Zabodyn. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
