He was predeceased by: his parents, AJ Cox and Pauline Robinson Cox; his wife Nancy Driskell Cox; and his siblings, Cora, Mary Cox and Johnny Cox.
He is survived by: his son Kevin Vermillion (Melissa) of Hazard, KY; his stepchildren, Kevin Hale (Ella) and Carla Montgomery (Jeff) of Harrodsburg, KY.; his grandchildren, Rebekah Vermillion (Zack Stephens), Alex Vermillion, Dustin Hale, Greg Hale (Stephanie), Daniel Barrett (Tara), Jill Wease (David) and Heath Montgomery; his great grandchildren, Katie Hale, McKinlee Lewis, Jack Barrett and Grayson Wease; and his sisters, Jeanne Wombles of Lexington, KY and Rhonda Gillis of McLean, VA.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Midway Christian Church (123 E Bruen St, Midway, KY 40347). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
