We announce the death of William Shane McFarland in Lexington, Kentucky, who passed away on September 2, 2026, at the age of 55. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger William McFarland and Patricia McFarland (Robinson); his grandparents, George, Anna Mae McFarland, Viola and Jim Robinson; and his brother Roy Bailey.
He is survived by: his wife Kelli McFarland; his daughter Brianna Guptill (Jesse); his grandchildren, Sheyenne and Ryder Pugh; his father-in-law Tony (Bonnie Layne Sr.); his siblings-in-law, Lori Burnette (Charles), Leisha Caudill, Tony Layne, Jr. (Sherri) and David Layne (Mary); and his close friends, Dan, Marsha Patton, Rick Theobald, Al Turpin and Robert Jones. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 1:00 PM at 1801 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40511.
