He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Murphy and Elsie Murphy; his wife Bernita Rochelle Murphy; and his siblings, John Bearl Murphy, James Shearl Murphy, Ethel Murphy, Lorene Noel, Deloris "Dee" Campbell and Anita Fletcher.
He is survived by: his children, Mark Murphy (Donna) of Liberty, Mike Murphy (Angela) of Somerset and Marsha Payton (Wallace) of Liberty; his brother Howard Murphy of Versailles; and his grandchildren, Becky Hinkle (Mark), Natasha McQueary (Brian), Jessica McQueary (Pete), Demi Toebbe (Harvey), Bryley Murphy (Kendall) and Grayson Murphy (Anthony Calabrese). He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and several friends and neighbors.
