He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Brown and Nettie Allen Brown; his daughter Jill McNear; and his siblings, Vernon Brown and Shirley Simpson.
He is survived by: his wife Darlene Farris Brown; his children, Wendell Brown of Lexington, Travis Goodin of Liberty, Sharon "Cookie" Hedrick (Jim) of Liberty and Donna Herren of Liberty; his sister Phyllis Denson (Shirley) of Liberty; and his grandchildren, Mike Brown, Amy Hamm, Josh Brown, Tana Cheeseman, Paige Herren, Austyn Herren, Shelby Henderson, Sydney Hogue and Gracyn McNear. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
