She was predeceased by: her former husband Millard Jefferson Smith; and her siblings, Leonard Horsley, Wayne Horsley, Estill Horsley, Vernon Horsley, Monroe Horsley, Bessie McGlone, Roberta Horsley and Garnet Howard.
She is survived by: her husband MJ; her daughter Elaine; her son-in-law Cavel Bush of Hopewell, Kentucky; her grandson Britt Bush (Caren); and her great grandchildren, Ella Joy and Audrey Jane Bush. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
In lieu of flowers Iona asked that anyone that loved and cared for her to please use the money you would spend on flowers to provide a meal to a child.
