She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas C. McDaniel and Alice McDaniel (Lunsford); and her husband Gilbert Samples. She is survived by: her daughter Ilka Lunsford; and her grandchildren, Sarah, Paige, Sierra, Emma and Tylor. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
