We are sad to announce that on May 23, 2024 we had to say goodbye to Dean Laird of Lone, Kentucky, born in Metropolis, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Alvin P. Laird and Kathleen Lucille Laird (Anderson); his in-laws, Harold and Louise Wolfe; his son-in-law Brad Castleman; and his brothers-in-law, Bob Wolfe (Sue) and Chuck Lambert.

He is survived by : his wife Peggy Laird; his daughters, Tracey Rice (Craig) and Kelley Castleman; his grandchildren, Casey Kistler (Bryce), Jamey Morris (Kyle), Cody Castleman (April) and Zach Castleman (Lavonia); his great grandchildren, Brylee, Carlee and Jeliza Rose; and his siblings-in-law, Joyce Lambert and Dale Wolfe (Melba). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation was held on Sunday, May 26th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home (70 Jon St, Metropolis, IL 62960). A funeral service was held on Sunday, May 26th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
