She was predeceased by: her husband Joseph Lawrence Ruley; her parents, Frank Abell and Lily Abell; her siblings, Gilbert Abell, Frankie Abell, Howard Abell and Geraldine Sheets; her grandchildren, Shannon Ballard Pinkston and Andrew "A. J." Hayen; and her great grandchild Dakota Ruley.
She is survived by: her children, Pam Ballard of Bardstown, Larry Ruley (Sandy) of Holy Cross, Gail Ballard (Harold Smothers) of Loretto, Allan Ruley of Crystal River, FL, Todd Ruley of Bardstown, Kim Hayen (Jamie) of Cox's Creek and Tony Ruley (Franzelia) of Lebanon; and her siblings, Sammy Abell, Randy Abell, Johnny Abell, Davy Abell, Kathy Hawthorne, Carol Abell, Doris Wiggs and Janice Newton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mattingly Funeral Home (195 Holy Cross Rd, Loretto, KY 40037). A prayer will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, September 25th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Francis Assisi Catholic Church (200 School House Dr, Loretto, KY 40037).
