He was predeceased by : his father Frank Gartin; his sons, Roger Gartin and Ricky Gartin; and his siblings, Alfred Gartin, James Gartin, Chester Gartin, Allen Gartin, Glenn Gartin, Darrel Gartin, Rosalee Gartin Mounts, Faye Gartin Sparks and Alta Mae Gartin Fitzpatrick.

He is survived by : his wife Judy K. Mills Gartin; his children, Gary Gartin (Lyn Marie) of Circleville, OH, Regina Sumpter (Ryan) and Nicole Smith (Brandon); and his siblings, Danny Gartin of Louisa, KY and Bonnie Gartin Boggs (Gary) of Utah. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
