He was predeceased by: his parents, Hassel Lyon and Berth Caudill Lyon; his daughter Judy Ann Lyon; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Jenkins and Leann McNew.
He is survived by: his wife Beulah Ward Lyon; his children, Beverly Tackett (Larry), Philip Lyon (Kathy), Kimberly Lyon and Diann Bailey (Jimmy Lee); and his grandchildren, Joshua Jenkins, Rachel Smith, Richard Lyon, Ray Lyon Jeffrey Litteral, Matthew Bailey and Timothy Bailey. He is also survived by Several Great Grandchildren; and one Great Great Granddaughter.
