We announce the death of Billie J. Thomas of Louisville, Kentucky, born in Harlan, Kentucky, who passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 70. Billie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her son Jimmy Courtney; her sister Janice Hayes; her parents, Johnny Thomas and Nellie Blackwell; her stepparents, Park Blackwell and Pheby Thomas; and her pet Tinkerbell.
She is survived by: her children, John Courtney and Magen Meyer; her grandsons, Dakota Courtney (Dayla), Dylan Courtney and Jaden Courtney; her siblings, James Blackwell, Ray Thomas, Ralph Cloud and Lisa Barger (Kenny); and her close friend Wanda Rahlmann. She is also survived by mother to her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 12th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
