He is survived by: his wife Wanda Poer; his sons, Brad Poer (Nicki), Rusty Poer (Esther) and Jason Shaw (Carmen); his sister Maxine Greene; his grandchildren, Amber Pearce (Christopher), Ashley Shaw, Taylor Shaw, Brandon Shaw, Cameron Sloan, Cayden Slone, Etta Poer, Brogan Poer, Lily Poer and Ellie Poer; and his friends, Jim Deloach (Suzan), Dick Linsert (Barbara), Denny Kirkpatrick (Brenda) and Jon Dickerson (Elaine).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Moose's name to the Chickamauga Battlefield by way of the National Park Partners at nppcha.org, or to the American Cancer Association.
