He was predeceased by: his parents, Johnnie Murphy and Mae Murphy; his daughter Terri Murphy; his siblings, Pauline Fields, Louise Metcalf and Billy Murphy; and his in-laws, Woodrow and Marie Marcum.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Murphy; his son Robert "Bo" Murphy (Trina); his grandchildren, Sarah Murphy, Ashlea Murphy and Robby Murphy; his great grandchild D. J.; and his niece Barbara Ann Poole (Robert).
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Buddy's contributions to the community extended beyond his military service; he was known for his reserved nature and thoughtful presence in the lives of those around him.
