He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonnie Phelps and Walter Phelps; his son David "Pat" Phelps; and his siblings, Darrell, Clifford, Winston, Gerald, Arthur, Elrie, Archie, Charlie Phelps, Evelyn and Mary Alice Phelps.
He is survived by: his wife Bobbie Phelps (Stinson); his children, Karen Beyerle (Bryan), Dennis Phelps and Amy Lindley (Greg); and his grandchildren, Cassy, Bobbie Jo, Summer, John, Heather, Jessica, Josh, Gabrielle, Caleigh and Logan. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Home (5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Owen Funeral Homes - Dixie Highway (5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216).
