He was predeceased by: his parents, Leanore Ashley (Brower) and Dennie Ashley Jr.; and his wife Judy Ashley (VanDyke). He is survived by: his daughter Amanda Zellner (Kevin); his grandchildren, Austin and MaKayla; his siblings, Bart Ashley (JoAnn) and Suzette Sweeny (Chuck); and his niece Kaylyn Bruehl (Reid).

Visitation was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Owen Funeral Homes - Dixie Highway (5317 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216).
