He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar T. Wilmes and Bernadine Becher Wilmes; his brother David; and his brother-in-law Tom Hammons. He is survived by: his wife Janis Wallingford; his children, Chris Wilmes (Laurie) and Laura Wilmes (Ty Constant); his grandchildren, Cooper Wilmes and Tate Constant; his siblings, Thomas (Susan), Michael (Beth), Carol Brantley (Gary), Victoria Koerber (Jeff), Gail Becker (David), Donna Dykes (Mike), Sheila Hammons and Brenda Waller (Bob); and his sister-in-law Donna Wilmes. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Ratterman Funeral Home (3711 Lexington Rd, Louisville, KY 40207). A Mass will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church (7813 Shelbyville Rd, Lyndon, KY 40222).
