He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth L. Layman and Lula Mae Layman (Bell); and his wife Phyllis Lynn Layman (Miller). He is survived by: his daughters, Laura Meeks (Kent) and Melissa Porter (Andy); his grandson Christian James Porter (Rachel); his great grandchild Elijah James Porter; his brothers, Roger Layman (Diane) and Mark Layman (Karen); his nieces, Rachel Argabright (Brian), Kathleen Grubbs (David) and Allyson Layman; his great-nieces, Sarah Argabright and Molly Grubbs; and his great-nephew Jacob Argabright.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home East (12900 Shelbyville Rd, Louisville, KY 40243). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 31st 2025 at the Louisville Memory Gardens West (4400 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40216).
