He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Schmidt and Ruth Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Carol Lynn "Lynn" Schmidt; his children, Christopher Jeremy Schmidt of Louisville and Andrea Lynn Glaze (Daniel) of Richmond, Virginia.; and his siblings, Larry Schmidt (Debbie), Ruth Ann Butler, Jane Schmidt (Joe Carrier), Bill Schmidt (Marlene), Onna Bruce (Billy), Mary Ann, Rob Dalton of Louisville and Mike Sherrill of Greenwood, Indiana.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
