With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James Vanderhoff of Louisville, Kentucky, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James left this world on October 29, 2025 at the age of 78, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, James Vanderhoff and Dorothy Vanderhoff; and his son Michael Vanderhoff. He is survived by: his friend Mike Mercer; his wife Paula Vanderhoff; his children, Natasha Vanderhoff, Jude Vanderhoff, Chrissanne Vanderhoff, Missi Oakes (David) and Tracy Higdon (Jay); his siblings, Dianna Lloyd (late Jim), Gary Vanderhoff (Carol), John Vanderhoff and Peggy Metzger (Buddy); his former wife Peggy Vanderhoff; his grandchildren, Sasha Dennison (Justin), Scott Higdon (Liz) and Ivan Vanderhoff; and his great grandchildren, Payton, Arya and Tyson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home (3800 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218). A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Ratterman and Sons Chapel (3800 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218). A burial will be held on Friday, November 7th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (2501 N Dixie Blvd, Radcliff, KY 40160).
