He was predeceased by: his parents, William Henry Thornton and Hattie Bell Davis-Thornton (Davis); his wife Fannie Mae Thornton; and his siblings, Victor Thornton and Geneva Thornton.
He is survived by: his daughter Tonya Faye Thornton-Thompson (Doran); his brother Alex Thornton (Johnetta); and his sisters-in-law, Doris Lee and Mary Thornton. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY 40272). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Highland Memory Gardens (279 Landis Ln, Mt Washington, KY 40047).
