He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Robin Hagan Gephart; his grandsons, Dawson Gephart, James Gephart and Blake Brown; his mother Louise Gephart; his sisters, Connie Hillenbrand (Brooks) and Carol Crawford; his pet Max; his father James Roy Gephart; his son James Ray Gephart; and his brother James Leo Gephart. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home (4400 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40218). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
