He was predeceased by: his wife Jacqueline Mitchell; his daughters, Kathy Mitchell-Blad and Cindy Mitchell; his parents, John T. Mitchell and Lucille H. Mitchell; his sister Lillie Mae Borrows; his grandmother Jean Vest (Barbara "Bobby" Truman); and his brothers, James W. Mitchell, Robert T. Mitchell and John K. Mitchell.
He is survived by: his children, Douglas Mitchell (Kelly) and Marcy Callahan; his grandchildren, Jonathan, Robert, Natasha, Joyce, Lexie and Evan; and his great grandchild Brynlee.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fern Creek Funeral Home (5406 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40291). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
