He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Carpenter Owens of Louisville; his children, Robert Gene Owens II of Independence and Gina Stephenson of Simpsonville; his grandchildren, Jordan Lynn Murry (Justin), Austin Stephenson (Cassie), Jacob Stephenson (Mallory), Tres Owens (Alexandria) and Mary Grace Gardner (Dylan); and his great grandchildren, Maddie Murry, Jackson Murry, Maryn Murry, Nora Stephenson, Joel Stephenson, Emmett Stephenson and Vivian Stephenson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home (204 N Kentucky Ave, Corbin, KY 40701). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the O'Neil-Lawson Funeral Home Chapel (204 N Kentucky Ave, Corbin, KY 40701). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cambridge Commons Clubhouse (11101 Cambridge Commons Dr, Louisville, KY 40291).
