She was predeceased by: her parents, Sallie Matlock (Adams) and Hermon Matlock; and her grandsons, Eric L. Lacey, Dwight A. Lacey and Aaron M. Swain.
She is survived by: her husband John Melvin Lacey; her children, Dwayne Lacey, Cynthia Denise (Lacey), Langford (DuWayne Langford) and Dwight Lacey (Erica Lacey); and her sisters, Delores Jones, Doris Luckett (Elcie Luckett) and Alfonsa Matlock. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 16th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Bates Memorial Baptist Church (620 Lampton St, Louisville, KY 40203). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 16th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
