Selma Tyree Bentley Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Selma Tyree Bentley in Louisville, Kentucky, who passed away on October 19, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Addys Tyree and Delsie Hood Tyree; and her siblings, Rachel Tyree Hardesty, Clarnell Emberton and Arnold Tyree.
She is survived by: her husband Kenneth Bentley; her grandsons, Dr. Corey Brown and Christopher Brown (Tierra); and her great grandchildren, Ava and Alivia Brown.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bartley & Sons - Gamaliel (315 E Main St, Gamaliel, KY 42140). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:15 PM at the Gamaliel Cemetery (825 Gamaliel Rd, Gamaliel, KY 42140).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Selma Tyree and Kenneth Lee Bentley Scholarship Fund or to the Kentucky United Methodist Children's Home.
