She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen K. Bland and Coleman Boyd. She is survived by: her husband Marion Vary; her daughters, Marva Vary Savage of Louisville, Kentucky and Nicole Vary Banks of Louisville, Kentucky; and her grandchildren, Trent Savage Jr., Ragan Savage, Chase Savage and Kenaija Banks. She is also survived by two sisters; and many extended family.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Stephen Baptist Church (1018 S 15th St, Louisville, KY 40210). A funeral service was held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends are invited to honor her legacy by supporting scholarships for YMCA Black Achievers pursuing education and career opportunities after high school.
