We announce the death of Roy Gibbs of Loyall, Kentucky, who passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 75. Roy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Gibbs and Lissie Rains Gibbs; his wife Vickie Farmer Gibbs of Loyall, KY.; and his sister Lahnel Head of Fort Myers. He is survived by: his brother Ray "Pete" Gibbs of Murfreesboro, TN; his brothers-in-law, Tommy Head of Laurel, MD and Bobby Jones of Fort Myers, FL.; his children, Roy Paul Gibbs (Arika) of Harlan, KY, Jonathan Runions of Berea, KY. and Carla Luley (Ryan) of Lexington, KY.; his grandchildren, Kylee Runions of Harlan, KY, Isaac of Harlan, KY, Lainey Gibbs of Harlan, KY and Emersyn Luley of Lexington, KY.; and his siblings, DeWayne Gibbs (Denise) of Punta Gorda, FL, Barbara Jones of Fort Myers, FL. and Phyllis Catron of Fort Myers, FL.. He is also survived by nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Loyall Methodist Church (503 Wilkerson St, Loyall, KY 40854). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Resthaven Cemetery (3000 State Hwy 840, Keith, KY 40806).
