He was predeceased by: his parents, John Brewer and Cecelia Brewer; and his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Brewer. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Brewer of Covington, Jay Brewer (Sally) of Ft Thomas, Todd Brewer (Meredith) of Burlington, Kathy Cloud (Randy) of Ludlow, Carrie Holloway (Kyle) of Union and Amanda Brewer of Huntsville, AL; and his grandchildren, Annalee Brewer, Keegan Brewer, Emmarie Brewer, Will Brewer, Elizabeth Brewer, Keaton Holloway and Kylie Holloway.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Betsy's Boutique, c/o Ludlow Board of Education, 525 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.

“I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Brewer as my AP History teacher at Ludlow. He instilled in me a reverence for history that will last my lifetime. I always appreciated his dry wit and idiosyncrasies that made him memorable. I still think of "pearl onions", his colloquialism for bullet points in an assignment, and his pre-mixed coffee rations in 35mm film canisters. Mr. Brewer had no small part in making me the history buff that I turned out to be. P. Schlosser, class of '99. Go Panthers!”
