He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Henry and Mary Frances Thomas; his wife Dorothy Thomas; his siblings, Franklin Thomas, William Thomas, Charles Thomas, Jr., Betty Lou Hall, Mary Lou Holly and Bernice Blevins; and his nephew George Thomas Hall III.

He is survived by: his nephew Jim Holly; and his nieces, Frances Jones, Lisa Derham and Susan Martin.
