She was predeceased by: her children, Marlo Gist, Danielle Washington Yates and Marquell Gist; her grandson Chance Gist; her grandparents, Adopted and Anna Ruth Anderson; her parents, Joe Washington Sr. and Reedius Washington; and her siblings, George E. Washington, Yvonne Adair Young, Evangelist Donna Cockrel and Carol D. Henley.
She is survived by: her sons, James E. Gist Jr. (Mary Wilson) and Javaude Gist (Sarah Mckenzie); her grandchildren, Drayven Gist (Khalei Rutherford), Kelin Gist (Brittany Osborne), Javon Washington, Orris Washington, Jaedyn Gist, Jocelyn Gist, Choosen Gist, Mckinley Gist, Mason Mckenzie, Destiny Lewis, Adastan Gist and Keke Gist; her great grandchildren, Emryn Reign, Choosen Gist and Draylee Gist; her sisters, Elder Renita Washington of Centerville, OH, Andrea Taylor (Tony) of Erlanger, KY and Celeste Washington of Savannah Ga; and also, Darryl Washington (Paulette) of Evarts, KY, Armon Anderson (Jerri), William "Tippy" Anderson (Lynne), James E. Gist Sr., Ken Yates and Judy Bly. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Greater Mount Sinai Church (409 1st St, Lynch, KY 40855). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
