He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonnie Duncan Harris and John "J. V." Virgil Harris; and his brother Bobby Dale Harris. He is survived by: his wife Connie McKinney Harris of Madisonville; his children, Mike Harris (Stephanie) of Madisonville, Jon Harris (Mary) of Dickson, TN and Merideth Tyson (Brad) of Hopkinsville, KY; his sisters, Lisa Anderson (Phillip) of Madisonville and Linda Liberto (Chris) of North Port, AL; his grandchildren, Josh Harris (Haley), Justin Harris (Gabrielle), Cody Oldham, Jeremy Baker, Hunter McCuiston (Dane), Maddi Donaldson (Mason) and Braedyn Tyson (Ansley); and his great grandchildren, Andi, Emmitt, Briley, Laiyla, Kendall, Easton, Dani, Drew and Murphy Jean. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
