He is survived by: his wife Nancy Turner Payne of Madisonville; his children, Christy Dillingham (Justin) of Madisonville and John Payne, IV (Lori) of Greenville, KY; his siblings, Becky Burns of Owensboro, Steve Payne (Deanna) of Fort Myers, FL and Copelyn Payne, Jr. (Peggy) of Owensboro; and his grandchildren, Carly Tirey, Cleopatra Tirey, Houston Buchanan, LeighAnn Rice (Johnathan), Tylor Haire (Casey), Lawton Buchanan, Hunter Buchanan and Talon Carender. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.
