He was predeceased by: his parents, Mayme Tyson Fowler and Willie Phillips; his sisters, Willie May Nance, Mary Osborne and Wanda Dunn; and his stepbrother Edward Fowler.
He is survived by: his wife Peggy Sue Pendley Phillips of Madisonville; and his children, Susan Sarver (Cecil) of Nortonville, KY, Kimberly Cates (Leroy) of Madisonville, Dana Sorrentino (Matthew) of Ranger, GA, Jill Stephens (Phillip) of Madisonville and Wesley Phillips of Madisonville. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
