He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Meadows Carter and Jewell Woodrow Carter; and his brother Jewel Wayne Carter. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Smith Carter of Madisonville; his stepdaughters, Jacqulyn Herrington of Madisonville and Robin Cosby (Kevin) of Sevierville, TN; and his grandchildren, Jeremy Springfield, Brandy Alexander, Jacob Flowers, Logan Cosby, Devin Cosby and London Cosby. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
