He was predeceased by: his mother Freda Dempsey Johnston; and his brother William B. Johnston. He is survived by: his wife Marsha Hopwood Johnston of Madisonville; his children, Michelle Harrison (Ned) of Georgia, Stephanie Bartosz (Joe) of Georgia and Thomas Perryman (Marlene) of Madisonville; his grandchildren, Claudia Harrison, Olivia Hamby, Ethan Harrison, Cole Eden, Bella Eden and Kaitlin Currie; and his great grandchild Gemma Currie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
