He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wesley Carden and Della Mae Evitts Carden; his siblings, Tito and Ara Miller; and his half-sister Barbara Jean.
He is survived by: his wife Ella Dean Roberson Carden of Madisonville, KY; his children, Byron Carden (Vickey) of Cadiz, KY and Tonya Groves of Madisonville, KY; his grandchildren, A. J. Groves (Sheena Riordan) and Brittany Carden (Angel Miranda); and his stepgrandchildren, Leigh Whitney, Josh Groves, Devin Litchfield and Macy Jordan. He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren.
