He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert William Tapp and Nora Ethel Nichols Tapp; and his siblings, Bobby Tapp and Shelby Daniel. He is survived by : his wife Phyllis Ann Henry; his children, Nikki Browning of Lexington, KY and Scott Tapp (Karen) of Madisonville; and his grandchildren, Morgan Browning, John Paul Tapp, Seth Browning and Hattie Tapp.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Barnett-Strother Funeral Home (2285 N Main St, Madisonville, KY 42431). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 24th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
