She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Jent and Minnie Martin Jent; her husband Marion Melton; her children, William Donald Melton, Charles Melton, Dearl Melton, Robert Melton, Carolyn Day Sexton and Brenda Miller; and her siblings, Jessie Jent, Melvin Jent, Elbert Jent and Lizzie Lewis.
She is survived by: her children, Billy Melton, Joyce Pierson (Mark), Doris Melton Pratt and Shirley Slone (Edgel). She is also survived by Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren & Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home - Hindman Chapel (125 Parks Branch Rd, Hindman, KY 41822). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 7:00 PM and on Monday, October 12th 2026 at 1:00 PM.
