He was predeceased by: his parents, Walker Gilbert and Lucy McIntosh Gilbert Halcomb; his sister Edith Louise Barger; and his son-in-law David Fields. He is survived by: his children, Farris Gregory Gilbert of Topmost and America Gilbert of Manchester, Kentucky; his stepdaughter Janie Caldwell (Chris) of Big Creek; his brothers, Carl Gilbert (Karen) of Oneida and Warren Gilbert (Brenda) of Oneida; his grandchildren, Connor Gilbert, Kelly Bowling, Isabella Gilbert and Brittany Bowling; and his stepfather Mike Halcomb.
