He was predeceased by: his parents, Wade Simpson and Mary Asher Simpson; his wife Irene Smith Simpson; and his sons, Kelly Simpson and Randy Simpson.
He is survived by: his children, Donnie Simpson (Dolly) of Mill Creek and Rhonda Smith (Dexter) of Barbourville; his sister Geneva Smith of Barbourville; his grandchildren, Shannon Garrison, Tracy, Patricia Brumley, Jerry, Dora Parks, Ashley Simmons, Kevin, Matthew Smith and Austin Simpson; and his sister Viola Jackson. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
