She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Burks and Jessie Burks; her daughter Jan Ovalle; and her grandsons, Jonathan Kholheim and Matrix Fox.

She is survived by: her daughters, Kary Garrison Rogers, Karen Brown Rhodes and Sandy Gupton. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Even while living at Calvert City Convalescent Nursing & Rehab, she continued singing and playing the piano up until just two weeks before her passing, despite suffering from Alzheimer's disease.
