It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Ed Scott of Mayfield, Kentucky, who passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Cletus Scott and Louise Dowdy Scott; and his stepfather Brantley Prince. He is survived by : his wife Jo Ann Mathis Scott; his children, David Scott (Tami) of Saltillo, MS, Lisa Scott Larkins (Tim) of Mayfield, KY and Maurita Scott Nesmith (Bill) of Tupelo, MS; his grandchildren, Nick Nesmith, Lindy Gordon, Mary Katherine Newton, Colby Scott and Meredith Scott; and his great grandchildren, Lola Gordon and Isabel Gordon.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Byrn Funeral Home (1020 Paris Rd, Mayfield, KY 42066). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
