He was predeceased by: his former wife Connie Lambert Holmes; his brother Rudy Holmes; his son Todd Holmes; and his parents, James Holmes and Dortha Rudolph Holmes.
He is survived by: his wife Gina Haywood Holmes; his children, Jason Holmes (Michelle) of Mayfield, KY, Rick Holmes, Jr. of Mayfield, KY, Kimberly Holmes of Mayfield and Lindsey Holmes Vaughan (Jason) of Mayfield; his stepsons, Brandon Sweatman (Holly) of Pensacola, FL, Scott, Jake Sweatman (Paige) of Mayfield, KY and Clay Sweatman of Paducah, KY; and his brothers, Ronnie Holmes (Rhonda) of Mayfield, KY and Rodney Holmes of Indiana. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Byrn Funeral Home (1020 Paris Rd, Mayfield, KY 42066).
