He was predeceased by: his wife Kathleen Bradley Mathis; his brother Jimmy Joe Mathis; and his parents, Coleman "C. B." Bedwell Mathis and Mary Laurine Beaman Mathis. He is survived by: his sons, Chris Mathis (Kim) of Mayfield, KY and Craig Mathis of Eddyville, KY; his sisters, Sylva Mathis McGukin of Cullman, AL and Sherry Mathis Dyke of Mayfield, KY; and his grandchildren, Tiffany Manning (Josh), Chelsey Mathis, Chase Mathis (Kristin) and Jarrod Mathis. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren; and multiple nieces and nephews.
