It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jo Mitchell (Maysville, Kentucky), born in Portsmouth, Ohio, who passed away on December 2, 2025, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Erie Stevenson and Laura Virginia Conley Stevenson; her husband Hubert "Smokey" Mitchell; her sisters, Ruth Mitchell and Jessie McFarland; and her son-in-law Rev. John Jefferson.
She is survived by: her children, Steven Mitchell (Janice), Randy Mitchell (Patricia), Laura Jefferson (late John), Melanie Woods (David) and Timothy Mitchell (Lynn); her grandchildren, Steven Mitchell (Lee), Bethany Alexander (Jay), Christopher Mitchell (Kelly), Allison Woods, Rebecca Gelter (Kellie), Cory Woods (Shelby), Sarah Mitchell, Kathryn Muncy (Trevor) and Andrew Jefferson (Katelyn); her great grandchildren, Taelyn Woods, Caroline Alexander, Amelia Alexander, Elyse Woods, Collins Mitchell, Easton Woods, Remie Jefferson, Lily Muncy, Rylie Jefferson, Maria Gelter, Charleigh Gelter and Georgia Gelter; and her great great grandchild Beckham Jones.
