He was predeceased by : his parents, Lois and Samuel; and his brother Samuel Mack Wright, Jr.. He is survived by : his wife Teresa "Terri" Young Wright; his sons, John Wright (Cherish) and Matthew Wright (Gina); his grandchildren, Sam, Hannah (Tanner Bowles), Emma and Luke Wright; and his sister Kathy Orner (Gary).

Visitation was held on Monday, May 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Tollesboro Christian Church (3684 KY-10, Tollesboro, KY 41189). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
