He was predeceased by : his parents, Ernest Teegarden and Myrtle Welch Teegarden; and his brothers, George, Clarence and Charles Teegarden.

He is survived by : his wife Lucy Smith Teegarden; and his children, Bobby Teegarden (Chrissy), Joanna Blankenbeckley (Hal), Jimmy Teegarden (Kristi), Tracy Phillips (Michael), Michael Teegarden (Kim) and Walter Teegarden (Kayla). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several extended family.
