He was predeceased by : his parents, John William and Alice Frances Smitson Shields; and his grandson Zane Ballard. He is survived by : his daughters, Jennifer Ballard (Jessie) of Germantown, KY, Megan Eckert (Michael) of Maysville and Heather Shields of Georgetown, KY; and his girlfriend Becky Jones of Flemingsburg, KY. He is also survived by her son; 8 grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters.
